In addition to designing web sites for several new clients, we've been busy updating our systems with the latest software. If you didn't notice, then we did it right. So here's a rundown.- Operating Systems. All servers were upgraded to the latest stable release. As the foundation for everything else, this improves all aspects of service, including performance and security.
- Web Services. Apache, PHP, MySQL, and PostgreSQL server software -- all upgraded. These are the core elements for reliable web hosting.
- Email. We even upgraded our WebMail system, and made special customizations that benefit DTL customers.
This month, we showcase a different kind of web site, the Comrades In Arms team site for the
popular U.S. Army computer game,
America's Army. The simple design supports advanced
functionality powering sophisticated real-time player tracking
and statistics. This entertainment site demonstrates
DTL's innovative network and database programming capabilities.
No fewer than six different computer languages are used.
Under Unix: HTML, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and shell scripting.
Under Windows: Visual C++. Although the high level of
technology is beyond the needs of a typical web site, it has
practical networking applications for certain businesses.
