New Email Upgrades You'll Love!

Four great DTL improvements give you better email service:
  • Big Convenience For Business Travelers. If you are a laptop-toting road warrior, DTL has made it simple to manage your mail. Set up your computer to use DTL's mail servers and exchange messages from any connection without reconfiguring or switching Outlook profiles. (See sidebar)
  • Stronger Spam Filtering. We now take extra measures to reject direct connections from rogue senders. After only a week, we are seeing an additional 15% reduction in spam and virus-infected email.
  • Sender ID Activated For Your Domain. In July, Microsoft announced plans to enforce Sender ID on its Hotmail and MSN email services, a policy that assumes a message is spam unless the sender's mail server flashes its identity badge: a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record. DTL has enabled SPF records on all customer domains so your legitimate email is not treated as spam.
  • New Webmail Features. Vacationing this summer? Add a personalized "on vacation" auto-response to your DTL mailbox. Easily forward your messages to another address. A new address book import/export tool lets you load up your current contacts.

If you have questions about any of these new features, or suggestions on enhancing our email benefits, please let us know.

When Did You Last Backup Your Web Site?

Although DTL maintains backup systems for archiving web sites, we encourage customers to keep periodic backups on permanent media. Realizing you have better things to do with your time, our backup service gives you a convenient excuse for not downloading web your site and burning a CD. For just $10 a disc, we create a snapshot of your online web assets and deliver it to you for safekeeping at your location. To get a CD of your site, simply tell us to "Back it up!" Cheap insurance is a good thing.

Showcase   Better Photos Without Flash
Brock N. Meeks Photography This month we revisit Brock N. Meeks Photography, site of professional photojournalist and chief Washington correspondent on homeland security for MSNBC.com. Meeks combines prose and pixels in a stunning presentation, but it was only accessible to certain Microsoft web browsers. So DTL quickly reengineered it, replacing the Flash with equivalent effects in JavaScript, fixing the compatibility problems, and improving content management. Says Meeks, "I'm sure Morgan broke a few laws of nature in the process. My new site is faster, more compatible, and best of all: a breeze to update and maintain. A 'simple' update used to take at least half an hour before Morgan's handiwork. That same process now takes a couple of minutes on a bad day." The new site, nearly identical to the Flash version, is finally available to all Internet users. And that is just fine.
